Bottom of the Barrel wk 2

Fantasy Football Rankings

We all waited weeks, some waited months for week one to come, aaaaaaand its gone! Time continues to move fast, the earth keeps moving round the sun and we all still make bad DFS decisions. Some things in life are inevitable. I can’t stop time, I surely can’t make the earth quit rotating around the sun BUT I can help some of you stop making bad DFS decisions. It’s not a promise, merely a thought I had when I decided to sit down and write this. The best any of us can do as humans is try. Try to be nice to each other, try to be productive members of society, and most importantly always keep pushing ahead! Week 2 of the NFL season is upon us and with that I give you a quote my late father instilled in me early on, “Christopher, hard work and patience will always pay off!” I’ve used those words quite often in life and in a weird insignificant way, in regards to fantasy football! See, with DFS we have to have a short memory. That team you constructed last week? It’s old hat, trash! That article you read last week? Its old news, history! We must always be striving to get better. Learn from your past mistakes and move on. You didn’t win a million bucks last week? So what, try again this week. In doing so there’s a constant quest for greatness! Never settle and keep it moving.
Last weeks article had a great reception, there was quite a few great plays. We scrapped the bottom pretty good here and came up with a few fantastic complimentary players. As stated before, this article is meant to be a secondary option when constructing your rosters. Cheap, cost effective and low owned guys meant to fill voids and set your lineup apart from the rest. This week is no different! I have dug deep, I have crunched numbers and once again we find ourselves in the Bottom of the Barrel…

FD = FanDuel Prices DK=DraftKings Prices

Alex Smith KC v PHI (FD-$7,200)(DK-$5,700)

We all know the guy had a monster week 1 in NE, that’s old news right? Imagine what he can do this week at home. At only $7,200 vs. PHI he tops my QB value board.

Joe Flacco BAL v CLE (FD-$7,000)(DK-$5,200)

After week 1 CLE doesn’t look to be the push over it was last year. That being said BAL looked waaaaay better then expected! I’m still siding with BAL!

Jared Goff LAR v WASH (FD-$6,500)(DK-$5,100)

Quietest 300yd passing game of week 1? The Rams DST was the real star! Look for Goff to take the spotlight back week 2 vs. WASH and their low floor defense.

Jacoby Brissett IND v ARZ (FD-$6,400)(DK-$4,500)

This pick is exactly what I dreamed about when I thought up this article. Two factors here, no way IND plays that bad again and second, ARZ may stink with Palmer at QB.

There were a few surprises at RB week 1 and one potentially catastrophic injury. That’s the risk with paying up at the RB position. Will they or won’t they mind set. Injuries happen and it creates opportunities for the next man. Much like real life and in my opinion, the world still spins and life goes on. Here’s a list of RB’s that could really help fill the void…

Kerwynn Williams ARZ @ IND (FD-$6,100)(DK-$4,800)

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention this man first. Unfortunately, things aren’t looking great for DJ. Kerwynn will without doubt be one pf the biggest adds in seasonal fantasy this week. Sometimes seasonal fantasy dictates what we do in DFS, get him while he’s cheap.

Tarik Cohen CHI @ TB (FD-$5,400)(DK-$4,100)

Another guy I have to mention, I know I know two meatballs my first two RB picks but he’s too cheap and too explosive to pass up on. Plus match up only makes this sweeter!

Chris Carson SEA v SF (FD-$5,200)(DK-$4,100)

It’s a tad early but if Rawls can’t play week 2 Carson will be the lead back AT HOME vs. SF! This kid is young and hungry. At this price?? This could be the play dreams are made of! Please heed my advice!

Javorious Allen BAL v CLE (FD-$4,900)(DK-$4,100)

No Woodhead this week, home vs. CLE, playing on a currently run heavy team, Terrance West in your way? Pfffttt, yes please! So much yes!

A low owned highly productive WR goes along way in boosting our rosters! There were a few good ones in here last week! That’s history now right? Well, it makes me want to dig deeper and try harder to find a few for week 2! Here they are…

Allen Hurns JAX v TEN (FD-$5,600)(DK-$3,900)

Another nasty injury has provided opportunity to this man. He led the team in catches/yards week 1. Things should be no different week 2.

Nelson Agholor PHI @ KC (FD-$5,500)(DK-$4,400)

He has caught Carson Wentz’s eye and that’s a good thing! No Eric Berry roaming the field this week in KC, can he snag another deep TD? I sure hope so!

Kenny Stills MIA @ LAC (FD-$5,400)(DK-$3,900)

People may have forgot about the Dolphins after their game was canceled week 1. He’s a sneaky bet for a TD this week! Fun fact: he had 9 receiving TD’s last season!

Kendall Wright CHI @ TB FD-($5,400)(DK-$3,900)

The Bears WR’s have been decimated by injury, leaving Wright kind of the last man standing. I believe they may be playing from behind so by shear volume fire him up.

Jermaine Kearse NYJ @ OAK ($5,400)(DK-$3,900)

In a game where the Jets will be behind I don’t mind taking a flier on Kearse. He seems to have risen to the top of the NYJ WR depth chart. However special that is…

A low owned TE who finds pay dirt will set your lineup head and shoulders better then the rest. Aside from those upper tier guys its so hard to find a TE that will do that! It’s like a lotto ticket half the time! Here are a few guys that could be winners!

Cameron Brate TB v CHI ($5,300)(DK-$3,000)

He’s a tad more expensive then I’d like BUT I have a feeling he scores. Did you see what the ATL TE’s did to CHI last week? Brate and TB had to sit week 1 out, he’s roaring to go!!!

Zach Miller CHI @ TB ($4,500)(DK-$2,900)

Opposite Brate in TB this week Miller will see an increase in playing time AND targets due to injury! TB is middle of the defensive scale, he will have plenty of time to move around!

Seth DeValve CLE @ BAL ($4,500)(DK-$2,500)

If you’ve ever heard of Seth DeValve raise your hand. Anyone reading this who did so is a LIAR! This is strictly a dart play, a gut feeling. Play at your own risk!

George Kittle SF @ SEA ($4,500)(DK-$2,500)

6’4 tough guy who was used a TON week 1! Brian Hoyer may look his way often in this one vs. SEA. SF wide-outs may scuffle against a SEA secondary leaving Kittle a check down dream!

Ugggh time for the bummer part of the article, kickers! I won’t be upset if you scroll past. If I was reading this I’d probably do the same thing. Like I’ve said before I try and choose a kicker who is playing inside and is cheap as can be! Mix and match here guys…

Connor Barth CHI @ TB (FD-$4,500)

Phil Dawson ARZ @ IND (FD-$4,500)

Kai Forbath MIN @ PIT (FD-$4,500)

Robbie Gould SF @ SEA (FD-$4,500)

Never discount the importance of a DST. As we’ve seen before most winning lineups have the weeks highest scoring DST on their roster! I try and target a DST who forces turnovers, heavy in sacks and most importantly is playing an inferior team with a lousy QB! Lets explore some options…

Jacksonville Jaguars JAX v TEN ($4,300)(DK-$3,100)

They looked shot out of cannon week 1 IN Houston! 10 sacks, an interception, three fumble recoveries AND a defensive TD! I’m well aware that was then and this is now, but c’mon people! I’m making this pick on momentum alone! Home opener too!

Buffalo Bills BUF @ CAR ($4,200)(DK-$2,700)

The more I looked at this match up the more it has to do with Carolina then Buffalo. Cake walk for Carolina in SF week 1, traveling home riding high. Enter the Bills! It’s worth a shot!

Indianapolis Colts IND v ARZ ($4,200)(DK-$2,300)

Hear me out here! Yes they were absolutely blown out week 1. ARZ played like trash in Detroit. IND is sure to make a switch at QB. ARZ is without arguably the best RB in the league in DJ. So something has to give here! A few more Palmer INT’s would be nice! For a dirt cheap price I’m willing to take that risk!

Well there you have it! The lowest of the low for week 2 wrapped up in a bow for you! Again, if used correctly with the right group of high priced studs you should do great! Sounds pretty simple right?

Here’s a FanDuel example line of how I used these plays! Feel free to use it as is OR as a template for something better!

I look forward to many spirited conversation/discussions!
